999 Happy Haunts Mask

So I’m continuing my process of sewing masks for myself and my family (which has been a journey since I dusted off my sewing machine I never learned to use 10 years ago when I got it and have been teaching myself to overcome my fear and reluctance), and I found this super fun fabric with the wallpaper pattern from Haunted Mansion at Disney and knew it HAD to be a mask.

I love it and while I can’t say wearing a mask is always the most comfortable (especially in the Florida heat), I really do enjoy the accessory aspect and having fun prints to help personalize it.

(This by the way, is the most simple of pleated patterns; two layers with one cotton canvas layer and then a quilter’s cotton backing as well as a nose wire to help with glasses fog. I finish it with elastic ear ties. I find that this style, despite being really simple, has worked well for my husband and I with our glasses so I’ve stuck with the basics when making ours.)
