How did your flour recipe work out? Most of the DIY paper mache paste recipes that I’ve read about are supposed to be very strong. I have been using powdered wheat paste. I mix the amount that I want, adding water to my desired consistency. It lasts for weeks in the fridge.
I also use paper strips, mainly because that was how I was taught in jr high school. But I like the strips. The only pulp I’ve ever tried is moistened, wadded tissue paper or toilet paper as the armature for an occasional little 3D embellishment on a flat surface, like a card or small wall art. But then I covered that with strips.
When I run out of the wheat paste, I will go to DIY paste recipes. No need to buy any paper mache pastes anymore.
BTW, your TED letters look great in this pic. So perfectly formed.
