We are doing Saturday Morning cartoons at work but since a majority of the staff were probably not even born when that was a thing they’ve opened it up to just cartoons. So my coworker and I are going as Bevis and Butthead. She’s 25 years younger than me and had no clue when I suggested other costumes (like HR Puttinstuff or Land of the Lost). Although she did suggest Scooby Doo but that has and probably will be done twice over. And the costume for these two morons is pretty simple (referring to Bevis and Butthead not me and my coworker ). Concert Tshirts and shorts. But I do need to make two paper-mache heads and that I imagine may be challenging.
And for a Halloween party I’ve compiled a bunch of things to make a raven queen/goddess ensemble. I’m pretty stoked about the feathery neck cowl and mask I found.
I’ve told my kid that she gets to do the bulk of her costume this year (she is not only ten, but in a cosplay class right now…) so I was vaguely thinking about making something fun for me. Maybe an owl costume.
I did an owl for me years ago, and used it repeatedly. The only hitch was the mask because I wear glasses. So I made a flat mask that hooked on my glasses with elastic…also wore bigger frames back then. Hmmm, maybe next year I will recreate.
I made my project a tiny bit less complicated because I was not confident in my skillz. I also have very little time to finish, since I have guests coming for the weekend and I could really use those housecleaning ghosts (nah, my house is cleared, it’s no fun having a haunted house irl). I didn’t factor their arrival into my crafting time. So…buttons.
Argh, giving up on plan a (half-complete) for being too hard on my fingers & going on to plan B.

Don’t stress about it! I haven’t got any houses,and I will adore whatever you make! Keep it simple and enjoy it…plenty of time for me to decorate before Halloween!
They were made on the old site in another swap, I believe, but I just do this for Halloween. You could start a holiday chunky swap or a Valentine or a gardening or whatever swap.
We have tomorrow left to craft before the send out date on Monday!
I have one house finished, the other is 83% finished. I keep changing my mind about things. I am happy to have a stash to help when I have a sudden idea. I had a happy accident today when I realized a punch that had been borrowed was not yet returned. That’s all I can say😁
