I swear this year just swept past. Looking through my photos I’m not sure I did much, but I know that we at least ate well ![]()
Here’s what I did manage to create and actually finish in the last few months.
Hoping for a calm, peaceful and creative 2026.

Project Name: Scrunchy-ish Watch Strap
Project Link:
Brief Description:
My watch, which is also a fitness tracker, has far outlasted it’s original strap. I got bored with the commercial options available, so decided to just sew a new one whenever I need it. This one is the third one I made, I think. I used a random scrap of red fabric and some elastic. It’s sporty because I need to actually wear the watch in order to track my steps.

Project Name: A Little Tea Party
Project Link:
Brief Description:
(the teapot isn’t part of the set, the set was too tiny to hold a proper amount of tea. The cookies were made by one of the friends)
My daughter and her friends decided to have a small tea party. They all dressed up fancy and we took out the tiny tea set which belonged to my mother when she was a child. I baked a small cake, tried my hand at frosting and decorating it (I need more practice) and made little cucumber sandwiches. And brewed some tea, of course. Tea parties are very posh.

Project Name: Orange Birthday Cake
Project Link: Birthday cakes for our winter babies
Brief Description:
An orange cake made for my niece. It’s sweet, for a child, it’s soft and the sugar decorations are a pastel pink.

Project Name: Turkey Meatloaf
Project Link:
Brief Description:
Just some turkey meatloaf, since I had some leftover ground turkey after making meatballs. It’s a nice filling dish, goes great with some pickles. It requires heat to make as it is baked in an oven.

Project Name: Pizza
Project Link:
Brief Description:
In search for the perfect pizza dough. I only have a toaster oven at the moment, so it’s hard to judge. The dough was tasty but a bit too soft. Once I have a proper oven I’ll try it again, because I think it’s a good one.
The oven uses electricity and the pizzas had a variety of toppings - olives, mushrooms and pepperoni.

Project Name: Root Veggie Soup
Project Link:
Brief Description:
I usually make “orange” soup, which my daughter loves, with orange colored vegetables (and a few not orange ones). But, I had some odd types of veggies that I don’t normally use, and that my daughter doesn’t like as much, so I made a soup just for me. Added some cream and blended it all. The stick blender is a tool and it makes a lot of noise when blending.

Project Name: My Birthday Cake
Project Link: Birthday cakes for our winter babies
Brief Description:
I had some leftover cake from the tea party, which I mixed with the frosting and made little dome cake pops. I put the domes on top of a new chocolate cake and decorated with some star sprinkles. The cake has eggs in it and is brown.

Project Name: Sufganiyot (but not jelly doughnuts)
Project Link:
Brief Description:
For Hanukah, we make fried foods. One big traditional food is sufganiyot, which are usually called jelly doughnuts. In Israel, at least, sufganiyot are not exactly the same as doughnuts. The texture is a bit different. These specific ones are different than the usual sufganiyot. They are smaller and not filled with anything. They are made with yogurt in the batter and are, in my opinion, super yummy and worth the mess in the kitchen. They require heat to make, and the oil sometimes “hops” (and I usually yell at it to stop spitting at me). The results sometimes have spikes that look like horns.

Project Name: Chocolate Birthday Cake
Project Link: Birthday cakes for our winter babies
Brief Description:
An chocolate cake made for my niece. It is brown and has an aroma. I doubt Bigfoot smells like cake, but the idea of a sweet chocolate smelling cryptid brings a smile to my face.

Project Name: Honey Beer Bread
Project Link:
Brief Description:
For Rosh Hashanah, we bought a case of special beers and other drinks. One of the beers had honey in it. I’m not a big fan of beer in general, so had an almost full can with no one to drink it. So, I made some bread with it. It was pretty nice as a snack with cream cheese.
