Brief Description: I handcarved this vase with opihi design. Opihi are a type of limpet in Hawaii. They were being over-harvested, so the first laws were put into place to regulate the collection of them in the year 2006.

Brief Description: Oh my gosh. I totally busted a hole in this vas mid-carving and thought it would be a disaster. I usually don’t try to fix things like this, but the sunk cost thing is REAL. AnywY, I managed to patch the hole, even though the clay was drying fast at that point, and it’s finally done with no issues I can tell!
