Last week, we had a tragedy in our family. My daughter in law’s brother, at only 16 years, decided that his future didn’t hold anything good for him, and took his own life. He was bright and talented and funny and hard working, and the fallout has been devastating for all of us. And not only is my DIL grieving, but her mom, who is a good friend and neighbor (literally lives a 5 minute walk from me) has, of course, had her world shattered.
My art skills are fledgling at best, but I wanted to give these two special ladies something more than just a card.
I know these are far from perfect but I hope that they will be reminders of how much I love them and that this awesome kid still lives in their hearts.
I’m so sorry for your loss and the grief and heartache your entire family and DiL’s family is dealing with.
These are beautiful and made with love. That shines through in every brushstroke.

Oh, Deanna, I know you are grieving this loss along with with DL and her mother, your friend. I hope making and giving these heartfelt cards helped you and will bring the family some consolation. You are in my thoughts. Take care, friend.
Yes, it has been a blow. This boy and my youngest have been friends as well, for about a decade. They even share the same first name, which created some amusing confusion at times. There are precious memories along with the pain, which will stay in our hearts because love is forever.
Oh, Deanna. I am so, so sorry for your family’s loss. Something made with love and tenderness is perfect and I know your loved ones will feel your love through these pieces.
