Fair isle knitting - how to avoid the jog at the end of the round

I’m teaching myself fair isle and haven’t been able to find any information on how to avoid the jog in the pattern when I move up to the next round. One source said that it will even out after blocking, but my current project is using some acrylic yarn in my stash, and that’s not really blockable. Would using the same trick to get even stripes work (pulling up the stitch from the bottom row)? Any suggestions on this would be welcome! This is driving me crazy lol.
