Here’s my vintage linen bread bag:
I wanted to enter Mistress Jennie’s contest as soon as I saw it, but I didn’t have any good ideas about what to sew to replace something wasteful or ecologically unsound in our house. We already use cloth shopping bags, beeswax wraps, etc. But then a Pinterest came to the rescue, by offering an article about how much better linen sacks were for keeping bread fresh than plastic bags. That’s certainly a some plastic I’ve been wanting to get rid of, so it was a perfect project.
Linen isn’t someth…

I have had a project that fits this challenge on my to-make list for a few months and thought “Ah ha! This will get me to do it!” Well, I finally started yesterday. Let’s see if I can get it done today and beat the deadline. [cue cliffhanger music]

You can do it! My thing is half made, so we’ll see how much knitting I’ll get done.

I did it! I think this is the first Craft Challenge I’ve ever participated in totally deliberately. YEY!
I’ve had something like this on my to-make list since last year and the Spring Greening Challenge motivated me to do it.

Not only were all the materials for the wrap from stash, they were all scraps left from former projects! Even the fusible interfacing which I ended up doing a little piecing to get to cover. That feels so good to use!

I’ll keep this in my vehicle for when I grab lunch while I am out on errands “in town” 25 miles from the house. I avoid f…

Here’s my submission! Some bright and cheery towels, perfect for spring
I wove these towels last year and this challenge gave me the kick i needed to finally get them wet finished and hemmed. They’re bright and sunny towels which are perfect for spring! I love how much variation I was able to get with a single warp!

I started to wonder today, because I hadn’t seen you on this thread at all, and it seemed like a challenge right up your alley!

I havn’t been on a computer for ages, just my phone. It is great that the site is easy to navigate on the phone, but I do miss stuff.
I need to buy myself a decent laptop, the old one is painfully, painfully slow.

I had something else in mind for this challenge, but I only had time for this project before the deadline. At least it’s timely.
This “project” was actually on my to-do list for spring break, which started yesterday, but it suddenly seems like something that means a lot more. I find myself getting frustrated with shoppers hoarding things that are disposable, instead of trying to find an alternative that isn’t going to “run out.”
I present, re-usable toilet “paper.”

Voted.
So many good projects to work on this year to reduce waste!
I am still looking for where I packed my big hunk of beeswax, because even though the contest is over, I still want to make things to re-use instead of re-cycle!
