I realized I didn’t answer lol. I don’t have any pets myself. When my mom and stepdad move in they’ll bring two dogs with them.

Hey all! Time for check in question 2: What’s a fun tidbit about one of your geek out prompts?

Solo Leveling won anime of the year. :purple_heart::purple_heart: (This year) There were quite a few good runners for that too!

I played Zelda as a kid, but had basically been on computer games only for a long time. But then, in the beginning on the summer in 2017 I broke my foot rather badly. The doc said I needed to strictly not walk for at least 6 weeks if I had any hope of walking unaided when school started. I am very active and had no idea how I was going to pull that off. My smart husband stopped on the way home from the hospital and bought a Nintendo switch and Zelda Breath of the Wild. He rightly figured that it was one of the few things that would help keep me distracted enough to heal. So my Zelda love was rekindled and still lasts - I’ve played every Zelda game that came out since. And I was able to walk (slowly) when school started.

Since two of my geek-out themes are animals and webcomics, I’ll let this be it’s own fact. For those familiar with Rosemary Mosco, she updated her comic flowchart on what to do if you find a baby bird:

@saintcady that’s a really sweet story. :purple_heart: Gold star for your hubby!

@chameleonhound the velocieaptor (I can’t spell and spell check doesn’t like me right now) but really made me laugh :joy:

I mentioned steampunk and dnd in my questionnaire and Dropout has a new series of Dimension 20 (watching comedians play dnd) that is steampunk themed. It started last week so I’m very excited

That sounds fun. :purple_heart: I’ve watched some of the older critical role stuff, I haven’t checked out Dimension 20, but I’ve heard good things.

I bought myself (from my kids ) a bird feeder with a camera for Mother’s Day, and I’ve been enjoying the ā€œpostcardsā€ that my local birds have been sending me!

I’m here but I can’t think of any fun tidbits, not related but I’m going to a big Game Con tomorrow, it’ll be a 3 hour drive. So I’m thinking more about that and getting some driving snacks

This week’s check in question:

Who’s your favorite character in your geek out stuff?

Hard to say just one of them lol

I think Sung Jinwoo, main character from Solo Leveling?

That’s too hard! She wasn’t in my questionnaire (I don’t know what I was thinking) but I’ll go with Captain Marvel? I literally have a Captain Marvel phone case and wallet

I think Granny Weatherwax from Discworld
Or Rosie Lee from Chronicles of St Mary’s

I can’t believe I didn’t include a couple of my other geek out topics, I guess it’s just because it’s a quiet season for them, nothing new coming out. Like the Demon Cycle books (by Peter V Brett) and Animal Crossing. Like who even am I?

Oh gosh, it’s definitely either the chickadees or the crows in Joshua Barkman’s False Knees comics.
