I just finished a new batch, so I decided to share my little tags that I put on my mugs (or anything with a handle or place to tie it)! I don’t like extensive packaging, but I like to put something, just in case my pieces are used as a gift or something.
I start with just covering a large sheet of watercolor paper with watercolor in various colors. (This particular paper was actually going to b for something else, but I commandeered it for this instead; otherwise, I don’t normally go this dark with the colors.)
Then I cut it to pieces approximately 2” x 0.75” (sorry I didn’t take a photo of cutting, but I use a little tabletop cutter/trimmer) and then stamp with a little self-inking stamp I had made of my logo.
My current logo is also originally from a hand-carved stamp I made of my logo (which had cleaner lines and edges before). I loved how it looked, so I ended up scanning a clean print and digitizing from there.
Here’s my little stamp with the OG stamp, which had seen better days before it had a run-in with some little hungry critters…
Then, I punch tiny holes and add string so they’re ready to tie to whatever needs a tag.
I like using them because it’s another element confirming that everything I do is handmade from scratch.
