I received a postcard from @bluebird today as well!
I received a lovely postcard from @bluebird today!
Me too! Thank you, @bluebird !
welcome to the happy mail bunch
I’m also a big minion fan – your mom has excellent taste
hope you feel better!
oh, I’m sorry to hear about the bearded dragon!
you have truly had your plate FULL recently!
HUGS!
hugs, and I hope things settle down for you soon!
I am reading my happy mail the same way as you – I want to have time to sit & enjoy it, so if I don’t have that time the day it arrives, it could be several days until I get the change to open and spend time relishing the good vibes from a happy mail friend.
So, to put my 2 penneth in. I love this craftalong because although I put pressure on myself to do things in a particular way, I know that no-one is expecting something just so.
It gives me a chance to get to know people I wouldn’t necessarily have got in touch with and expand my (lack of) skills in an area that is not my forte, without major judgement.
For example, I wouldn’t join a 4x6 art swap or an ATC swap because I am not confident in those kinda skills. What I achieve might please somebody but not always me, or others.
I have a card right now where I tried some new techniques, nothing difficult. But I’m not loving it. I see it and try and think what to do to oomph it up. But realistically, I could send it to anyone of you here and you might not like it aesthetically but Happy Mail is indeed that.
Any HM I get through my door is way better than the junk / bills I usually get. And yes, I like to thank people and share, mostly because you guys are the only ones I get to share it with. But the no pressure approach is good for allowing me to try things and if people don’t want to post, so be it.
@Reinikka I like the casual approach because I can dip in and out as my life dictates, if I had to sign up every month / quarter etc. I’m not sure I would be committing equally and then I’d feel equally bad. Again, this is just my thought and I like the way this works.
OMG, I get so little post and I’m still working from home so everytime the letterbox goes I’m looking to see if it’s something exciting! If it looks like bills or junk, I stay working, if it looks like Happy Mail, I run the very short space to the door, open immediately then put aside for looking again and sharing later.
LOL I am doing the same thing by sending my Seattle postcards over a month later!
aiyiyiyi
and @kittykill, this is my favorite part of your post (made me giggle):
Everyone needs a cha-cha in their life!
I know the feeling because I wanted to do the same after reading all the discussion my simple statement generated and the negative comments (whether they were directed towards me or not)
When I said …
I was just sharing how I felt because I put a lot of work into my cards and if they went missing, I’d be sad. Also, I feel bad because maybe the 10 people I sent to didn’t get a chance to be happy because nothing got to them. I also have 5 places close to home that I can mail from, I’ve tried them all and I’m not sure if they are all reliable.
I’m not offended they weren’t acknowledged, just wondering if they ever arrived. I am sorry now I even posted my comment.
Now everyone go back to being happy in this craftalong.
What have I gotten myself into?!?! KIDDING!! I’m here for the Cha-Cha. Just call me Lola.
I hope you feel more peaceful soon.
Yup! As my brother says ; “The hits just keep on coming…”
I may or may not be (okay, I am), making 5 themed (I think!) cards to send out! Back at it!
Just a bump in the road… or a skip on the record, since we’re dancing…? What’s that called? The needle bounced out for a second or something…
Oh hey… November’s theme will be Gnome-vember but as usual do whatever you like!
There’s gno emoji for gnome so you guys get leaves, tomato, and house
I love the theme!
