I’m having serious doubts I’m going to finish on time even with the extension. I spent nearly the whole challenge time brainstorming and now that I have a solid idea I’m excited about, I’m out of time!

After waiting for my delayed supply to arrive, I have finally made progress. I got a big chunk done yesterday, and am hoping to finish it tomorrow.

I came up with a fun idea that I was all excited about, but my husband told me I wouldn’t have enough time and broke down the time factor for me. I disagreed and spent the next day brainstorming the details…at which point, I realized he was right. I’m just glad I realized it before I was neck deep into the project!

If you really like your project, you could still complete it and post after the deadline for all to enjoy. That’s the decision I made when I started mine. It would still be your LC-5 celebration.

Abstract embroidery - high five challenge

I was so blown away by the creativity during the latest abstract embroidery swap that I decided to make another piece, this time for the challenge. Since wood is the traditional 5th anniversary gift, I tried to brainstorm how I could incorporate wood into my embroidery piece. The idea of an abstract embroidery resembling the rings of a piece of cut wood was born. I created this using 5 colors of embroidery floss and used a faux wood hoop for the frame.
