Lighted Lantern Winter Scene

I made this as a gift for my brother-in-law’s girlfriend. She’s hard to shop for, but appreciates hand crafted items and often makes handmade ornaments each year as gifts.

I took one of those metal lanterns you get at the craft store meant to hold a tea light candle, and decorated it with a winter scene. I lined the bottom with battery operated fairy lights, put down the “snow” to cover the “ground” and added trees, the bench, and deer to make a little winter scene. I also added some glittery “ice” to the corners of the front door to look like a frosted window.

It’s a relatively straight-forward project, but it takes some tinkering to get everything to fit nicely and arranged. But I think it came out cute. I really love working on these little miniature scenes.

Sweet!
I’ve been addicted to accumulating interesting display containers for years, but I don’t fill them fast enough. I’m glad someone finishes their projects. Good on you!
