Because I’ve been using my Cricut so much I have all these too-big-to-toss-yet-too-small-to-store paper scraps that I’ve been punching into scalloped circles that occasionally I’ll use as a seal on a handmade card’s envelope or something. I have A LOT of them now.
Yesterday I received an order from scrapbook.com which came with some free stamps, so I decided to make a bunch of seals for cards and other handmade gifts that I ship off.
Then I dug through my other stamps and came up with a few other funky ones that fit on the circles. I’ll probably attach them to mail, too!
It was a nice quickie project that busted a bit of stash!
EDIT: I got the idea of using punches to utilize the paper scraps from a Cricut loving friend! She mostly does circles and in order to not directly copy her, I went with scalloped circles. Sometimes I use a tag punch, too. Maybe I’ll find another shape or two!
What a great idea! I hate to throw out those randomly shaped scraps that form when cutting out other shapes. I think I’ll start tossing them in a box and every once in a while I can attack them with paper punches. I think I have a divided box that I can store different shapes in. And, later, I can either stamp on them or use them for cards or ATCs.
Very helpful idea! I’ve got a ton of scrap paper randomly scattered about and now I have an idea of how to sort it. Punching into different shapes and storing by shape is awesome!
Super cool idea! You could even get a larger or smaller circle than your scalloped circle and do a cool layering effect too for tags to attach to things. I’ve done that before and it looks pretty cool.
