When my youngest was about 3, we were on a family road trip. He had his hand out the window but my husband was going to roll the window up, so he told the kiddo to take his hand out, which he did. But as soon as he saw the window going up, he thought it was neat and put his hand on top of the window, unbeknownst to us.
When it got to the top and the wailing began, my husband quickly rolled the window down so he could remove his hand. He showed us the red mark on the back and very indignantly said through the tears, “Look whatchya done!”
It is now a phrase employed by the entire family at appropriate moments. Lol!
