Mare Mare's binding tutorial from the "bad place"

Did anyone manage to save this binding tutorial from the old site? I don’t seem to be able to search the way back machine effectively :frowning:

Seems I’m not the only one who never really got binding until @MareMare explained it properly!

Indeed, although I still have to really focus on joining it together, I have done that wrong so many times!!

And why the “bad place”. I thought it retired gracefully to heaven.

I love her method of piecing, and the final join of the binding, but I still prefer to sew it to the front, flip and press to the back, and handstitch the back of the binding. I just prefer the way it looks that way.

That is such a great tutorial, I think it was the first time I really understood binding too.

I like how invisible hand binding turns out but then I saw this visible hand binding @tendstowardschaos does and I absolutely love the way it looks.
