CLOSED: Nerd Games - Winter 2020

this is awesome! My cats would love something like this.

this looks great.

@roler – Your owl TM patch is adorable. Where ever did you find that fabric? Nicely done baby sweater. Looks like Katsuyuki was ready for his trip to AZ! I imagine he fit right in with his cowboy garb. You just learned to chochet and you made the eel! Wowza! Cheetoh looks amazing. I love his name too.

@storerboughtcreation – Wow, I think my eyes would have revolted and I would have gone blind working on that Daisy Cross stitch! Oh my goodness! It looks beautiful. How big is it? Maccha looks like a lovely ballerina in her new tutu. The color goes great with her shell! Your calzone is making me hungry. I would have never thought about putting cashews in one. I bet that is good. And I love seeing the pics of you and roler! When Bunny1 sent me a picture I said you look like sisters too. LOL!

@Tanath – I love those little rings! I did a beaded bracelet ONCE. It was so crazy. I can’t imagine making all these. They are fantastic. The bird is my favorite. It is so adorable!

@Lynx – Great save on Soft Kitty. Its so sad that BBT is over. I miss it still. Love the rope mirror. It’s a clever idea for the twine and looks great. I love the way you made the flowers and leaves out of twine too! The Joyful Clover hoop is awesome. I know she loved it! The background fabric was perfect too!

@craftADDchick – what a smart and delicious looking smoothie pack! Your scones looks scrumptious too. Great dishcloth. You can never have too many of those little guys around. Oooh on the moldable scrap tray. I saw that moldable interfacing years ago and forgot all about it. It looks very cool! Nice patchwork too.

@geekgirl – Your art journal is amazing! It looks like so much work. My favorite is the “Do Epic Sh!t” page. Love the colors of the mini book tag.

@appledainty – Your coffee table is very cool. I love the top fabric that you chose. Princess Hissabelle’s throne is magnificent. She is so cute and she looks like she loves the bed! It’s purr-fect for her. I love that you hung up artwork for her. This is great! I also love you artwork. I wish you woul show us more! You are incredibly talented.

@raury – Those socks are phenomenal! I love that you added a pattern to the tops. Pretty color too.

Team: Bits and Bobs
Project Name: Hanger Cover
Project Link: tba
Brief Description: My mom used to make loads of these hanger covers, which we still use all the time because they’re SO useful keeping clothes from slipping to the floor! I decided to work on one this week specifically because I thought it was something I could do while watching Netflix with my parents (and so I could use the new crochet skills somebody awesome taught me). Also, we’ve been watching tons of fashion shows lately like Next in Fashion (which I love because the contestants and judges are NICE, kinda like on GBBO), and you’d want a good hanger for your pretty clothes on those shows!

Question: if I offered a set of say, three of these for a raffle prize in the summer, would anyone be interested?

The daisy xstitch is about 4.75 x 4.75 inches. It’s pretty small.

As for cashews on pizza… We got the idea from one of our favorite restaurants back in Olympia, WA. There’s this placed called Casa Mia, and one of the pizzas on their menu is called the Pizza Strada Susina. I think it’s the best pizza I ever had. This is my take on it, which is plenty yummy, but it is quite different.

A pizza chain we have around is Donatos. We really like their Hawaiian pizza. One thing that makes it special is they add almond slivers and cinnamon.

I’d be interested! I would definitely put in some tickets for this :slight_smile:

How is March already half over!? We are leaving this week… Which is sure to be an interesting experience what with everything closing down due to covid-19 concerns.

I just finished catching up with tracking. I look forward to seeing the flood of new projects that people will be finishing due to self-quarantining. Stay healthy friends, and craft on!

Oh my goodness, people, I have been watching and admiring this thread the whole time and thinking I’ll get around to commenting but I’m busy right now and… here we are two months since the last time I really commented! There is SO MUCH to catch up on but I love it all so I’m gonna give it a go…

@AcadianDriftwood
Mmmm, deviled eggs. I love them too! I made them for an Easter party I held with my Japanese friends and no one had had them before, so it was a special treat! I also sprinkle paprika the way you do; it’s the best way! XD Also, I D&D too! I wonder what percentage of the Nerd Games people do…? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@FrizzyTyger
Those bagels may be slightly misshapen but they look DELICIOUS! I have never made sourdough OR bagels so this is so impressive to me! Onions, garlic, and sesame sound like a perfect match/flavor too. :slight_smile:

@gozer
Your coin purses! They are all SO CUTE and elegant too! And the lettuce one really made me smile. I’m having trouble choosing a favorite but… yup, it’s the cat and dog one. XD

Aaaand, I barely started commenting but I’ve gotta go make dinner. Back later!

@Mountains_and_Clouds
I love your glaze on the bowl. The different shades of blues are just gorgeous with the clay color peeking through.

@AcadianDriftwood
Your lemon art is so cheery! And is that part of a library check-out card in one of the sections? Love all the variety and details!

@storerboughtcreation
You know how much I looooooooooooove the eel biscornu!! It’s gotten loads of likes and comments on Katsuyuki’s blog too! :slight_smile: The hummingbird you made is so charming; I would use it as a Christmas ornament, or hang it in a window! Definitely the right choice to do the unicorn biscornu on a black background; it makes it pop so much.

@appledainty
I echo the amazement of others that you embroidered all that yourself on those sleeves! So intricate! And WOW that butterfly earcuff is gorgeous!!! I’m imagining it with a yukata I have; it would go so perfectly!

@QueenHobo
That shawl is breathtaking. The hombre yarn is so subtle and beautiful, which goes really well with the lovely intricate pattern!

I play Hackmaster off and on - same general idea!
