I bet that was a lot of fun! Collage is such a freeing technique. Did you draw the face? I love the exclamation point nose.

Here is my piece from the Zoom. I ended up cutting off the right side because I didn’t like the dark upper corner. I saved the flower and will post a picture of the remake after everything dries.

Today is the first day of Sketchbook Revival for anyone that is looking for some free classes.

I’ve enjoyed past years. Not sure I’m feeling the sessions in this year’s offerings, but there are many days to go!

And Willowing Art’s “Mastering Mixed Media” expo is coming up May 1st. That one is 2 weeks with 35 free sessions.

I signed up for the Sketchbook revival. I am only looking to do a few of the lessons. In the past, I overwhelmed myself by watching and doing some of them that really weren’t my thing.

I am not joining the FB part so I will probably post finished projects here instead.

I signed up for Making Zen in May but that is more sewing projects.

There are some good lessons in “Mastering Mixed Media”. I did that last year. Maybe I can sneak in a lesson or two.

I still have probably 20 PAID for lessons that I have not done!!!

I finished my Australian Piano Hinge journal. It was a free lesson from the Sketchbook Revival first day (which is still available if anyone is interested).

You basically use an accordion folded piece of paper to create tabs for each page.

After the page is put in, you use another piece of paper to secure it.

It was very time consuming (lots of cuts and measuring) but fun to try. I made a mini one with leftover supplies, but I doubt I will use this method very much since it feels like the tabs will wear easily and the journal will fall apart. I had that happen when putting on the covers and had to rig up a way to connect the covers .

That’s gorgeous!

Thanks! Lots of run and really meditative and relaxing.

I might be a bit obsessed with her technique. I am actually thinking of buying some of her classes.

Little Zine Book 1

A little book made of one piece of paper, folded into a zine. I may add some writing later.

I love your little collaged zines!

I wish I had more time to do the Mixed Media…I had already signed up for the free Making Zen, which is May 4-8!

All the free class sessions seem to cluster in late spring/early summer!

@AIMR - I watched that negative spaces watercolor class and can’t wait to give it a try this weekend!

I think you will do great with it! The classes end April 28 so I am going to rewatch my favorites this weekend.

cute zines @stirlingarts!

I am not allowing myself to join any classes (free or not) this year. I have been so busy at work, my sister is moving in with me and I need to seriously declutter so I don’t need the distractions! If I feel like I am finally treading water and feel motivated I have plenty of previously paid classes I can redo.
