Patchwork Poppy Pillow

A few months ago I took a class with my son and made one of my first embroidery projects of California poppies. My mom is mostly bedridden these days, but she loves patchwork, flowers, and nice textiles, so I decided to make it into a patchwork pillow as a gift for her. I used satin, silk, and velvet, so that it would be comforting for her to touch. They were beastly to work with, so it is a little wonky, but I am pleased overall with the end result. My kids are calling it an “emotional support pillow” and I think that title fits.

Oh, wow! This is lovely, and looks so delicate. And the colors are yummy. (I love yellow in all its forms.)

Before reading the description, I was thinking how soft this must be to hold or just absently touch. You nailed it for the emotional support pillow!
