Today in the charity shop (thrift store) I picked up this super cute little ceramic vase(?) it’s only 5" high. For a hot minute i convinced myself it was edelweiss, and bought it for my husband as he loves the song. Then when I was handing it over I realised it’s lily of the valley however we declared it’s henceforth the edelweiss cup.
About an hour after we got home he showed me the cup in six pieces, he knocked it over. He was not happy with himself.
I told him I could fix it, he doubted it because he thought there were still too many chips on the floor. Pffst the man should have learned not to doubt me by now. I kintsugi-ed it.
If you want to do the same, super glue gel, and good gold paint, paint the lines after the glue has set. Easy peasy.
Mr. Squared now comes and asks “Can this be fixed?” on a regular basis. It took several years for me to convince him that not everything went in the bin if it wasn’t as perfect as the day he got it.

It is lovely! I have a few pieces from my great grandma that was put together with real gold. You did a great job of making it look like real gold. What a beautiful piece to remind us that even broken things can be fixed!
