Quilt-along 2021

They’re called bed runners or bed scarves. I think that’s a fabulous idea for a quick change!

I whipped up this lap quilt top yesterday morning ing. I had bout a layer cake of gorgeous flannel and it sat there. I finally decided on a quick and simple design. I didn’t want any diagonals because flannel is so soft and I wanted the beauty of the colors to show. It will end up about 48 x 66…long enough to cover feet to chin on a recliner! I am now waiting for the rest of the fabric to arrive.

I adore those colors!!! It looks and sounds so comfy!

Beautiful color palette!

Good thing I treated myself to this little quilt pack today so I’d have some pretties to play with! I’m gonna give it a try!

I think he secretly loves the fiddling with cables - part just as much as making music. He buys and sells stuff all the time. I think we have 3 working record players now. And he always uses cables, never wifi, because apparantly the sound isn’t as good? And I don’t even want to know what’s in his studio. More speakers and tech things and recording stuff and amps and cabs and miles of cables. I’m like you, I have very little and it’s all super easy to set up and all wifi.

@Whistlefish love that fabric!

@marionberries that’s a lovely top, it looks so cosy.

As some of you know, I’m mid buying/selling house, still waiting for a likely contract completion date. But fingers crossed it’ll be in the next two weeks. Once that happens I’ll be packing up my whole craft space, machine, fabric, everything. So there will be no quilting for me for ages. In that spirit I made all the BOM blocks today, I’ve got something in my life prepared for the next 7 months! So in case anyone is curious, all the blocks play nicely together. I’m a convert to sampler quilts, the variety is great, very absorbing.

Just a word of warning to you guys, the linked BOM are in different sizes for finished blocks. Most are 12.5" finished, but some are not, so you might need to go looking for a different version of the pattern if you want them all the same size.

Good to know they play well together! Really excited for your new adventure!

Or you can add a border sashing to make them the same size. All the more fun!

Wonderful colour combination.

Beautiful!

Thanks for the heads up…I actually was thinking of making a few different sizes and mixing it up…when I was in the quilt block swap, even though I asked for a specific size, not all of the blocks even of the same pattern were exactly the same size…I did manage to make them all fit with sashing or “creative sewing”…that is the fun and challenge of samplers…I sort of want to make the heart pattern as my center and then surround it with the other patterns…that is what I am planning sort of ahead!

I’ve considered that idea too!

I have this pack - the colors and prints are sublime. I made a scrappy prayer flag for Abbeeroad, and will probably make a small project with the remainder, because the colors are just fantastic.

Ooo! It looks lovely!!! I kinda want to get a coordinating gray and give a go at a real quilt.

Love that fabric and my flag!

And speaking of different sized blocks…I decided I wanted to try mini versions, so I did a (roughly) 4.5 inch square block for the Jan BOM:

Nothing lines up but I’m honestly surprised it’s not worse.

Not sure I’ll be able to do mini versions for all months…we’ll see!

A grey would be really lovely against the steel undertones in the fabric! I can’t wait to see what you make with it!
