Quarter 1 Challenge
(January 1 - March 31)
Quilt something functional.
You could just make a quilt for your bed, after all such a quilt would be quite functional. Or, you make a quilted plastic bag holder like this one @jellybean made for her sister. So long as it serves a functional purpose (beyond being gazed upon and admired), you can submit it for this challenge!
- Simple Quilting Projects that AREN’T Big Quilts (many of which are functional)
- Transform a hoodie into a quilted garment
Quarter 2 Challenge
(April 1 - June 30)
Tackle a project that has been on your “To-Do List” for at least 6 months.
We all have those projects that we’ve considered making, but just haven’t gotten around to yet. Or, maybe you have already managed to start it. Either way, if you have had a project on either your mental or written to-do list, and it’s been on said list for at least 6 months, it qualifies for this challenge. Now’s the time to complete that project and check it off your list!
Quarter 3 Challenge
(July 1 - September 30)
Create/Quilt something inspired by quilty media.
Quilty media is pretty much any ‘media’ that has to do with quilting. You can quilt a pouch inspired by a YouTube tutorial. You can create a create a block inspired by the BOMs on your favorite quilt blog. Heck, you can even participate in a mystery quilt sewalong on Facebook. So long as you create something inspired through “the main means of mass communication (broadcasting, publishing, and the internet),” it will work for this challenge.
*Media definition provided by Oxford Languages.
Quarter 4 Challenge:
Quilt something using your favorite fabric (this can be your favorite of the fabrics you have in stash or maybe you can use this as your reason for purchasing your ultimate ‘gotta have it’ fabric). If you have multiple favorites, you have more options. If you don’t have a favorite, then just use a fabric that you really like. The basic point of this challenge is to “Use the good stuff,” as @Edel would say.
