Eight blocks done. Four more at the halfway stage. I decided to make the quilt bigger than the pattern calls for, so I’m making 16 blocks, rather than 12. Fortunately, deciding to fussy cut the centers left me enough Charm Squares to expand.

-I MistressJennie, offer World’s Fastest Potholders for my small personal finish.
I literally whipped these up, right before having to go to the picnic. They took all of 32 minutes from start to finish, thanks to having pre-cut batting, Insul-Brite, backing and binding strips. And being able to switch to my walking foot so fast, which makes everything about pot holders go so much smoother!

I marionberries, submit these as my late April BOM entries.
I am not really playing along this year to earn points, but I love the BOMs! To refresh your memory, I am making two blocks each month from donated flannel fat quarters. One is a luscious rainbow collection, and the other is a warm tan and brown mix. The rainbows are 12" and the tan/browns are 9" blocks. It’s always fun to resize the selected patterns

With the Summerween swap done, I should get back to quilting! I haven’t really done any quilting at all since I returned from my short trip to France three weeks ago. I cut out the July BOM and it’s still ready to piece on my desk where I left it.

I marionberries, submit these as my late June BOM entries.
This block looked so easy, but I struggled with the center points matching up. I fussed a bit and then said “It doesn’t have to be perfect!” and went on with my day. Once they were up on the design wall the mismatches just don’t show as much. I like both of these a lot. I wish I had some fun flannels for the fussy cut in the center, but I am determined to just use stash for these.

They turned out nicely!
I was berating myself for not getting perfect points on all of these star blocks, but then decided that once I did a bit of quilting and sewing them into projects, they would never be noticed by most people. They are done and can be made into fun and functional things. I am done with “perfect”…it is never going to happen if I am to get through my stash!
