7 days to deadline!
You’re doing great!!! Won’t be long until you turn the heel and after that you’re on the home stretch.
I tried something so you guys don’t have to: I accidentally tested the Drops Fabel superwash treatment and it passed!
Somehow a sock ended up with a load of laundry that went into the hot cycle, then spent two hours in the dryer, and it looks the same as when it went in.
I typically buy superwash treated sock yarn but I’m still careful washing handknits. The label says wash on warm gentle cycle, don’t machine dry.
I’m glad your sock survived the dryer, @Immaculata! I’ve accidentally dried a few, myself.
This is the second sock. Another WIP almost done. Yay!
Getting there. His b’day is tomorrow so not sure I’m gonna make it in time but I’ll give it the ol’ college try.
Fantastic progress!!! I love that yarn.
Thanks! I love that yarn, too. Thanks, @tendstowardschaos for sharing it in your Spring 2003 sock adventures! I bought it when you shared the brand/name (Kroy) but am only getting to it now.
You’re welcome.
It’s knitting up beautifully.
You’re so close! You can do it!
Very cool sock ruler, BTW.
Yay!! They look great! Weaving in lots of ends is the only downside of stripes.
@AntBee did you manage to finish that second sock in time?
Good work, @tendstowardschaos !
I haven’t finished yet, these humans i live with keep stealing my “down time” and time I should have had alone to work on it kept getting pulled to go do things with them so I gave him the one sock and showed him the nearly finished second one. There isn’t too much further to go, just gotta get the time!
How wonderful! You did it!
They’re fantastic!
Thanks, guys! And they even fit! He’s wearing them right now. No blocking in this house, apparently haha
Yayayay!!! I love this.
They look great!! And who needs blocked socks if you could have warm feet right now?
While procrastinating and trying to remember what pattern I used for kid’s socks I stumbled upon these Advent Socks I had pinned aaaaaages ago. Has anyone done something like these? I think it’s a fun take on Thing-a-day/countdown calendars for sock makers. Thought I’d share the Ravelry shop that sparked the thought:
I haven’t done that yet but it looks quite fun! I might have to try that this year - always a good excuse to knit more socks. December will be quiet at work and my time off starts mid-December. I love that these patterns are a neutral colour + scraps. I think I could throw that together, I have inherited some sock yarn in traditional colours from my grandma and I have a ton of my own scraps in bright colours.
I like the idea of intentionally setting myself down for a relaxing cup of something hot with colorful yarns as a way to wrap up an evening. Very cozy!
