Oh no that sounds really hard. When will you get all that back?
Just a heads up to everyone that (grrrrrr) USPS is doing their holiday price increases again, starting Oct 6th….
And I also apologize because even Pirateship is raising pricing for AK/HI etc, even though it sounds like their contiguous pricing will mostly stay the same.
Also, oh gosh, @kayrun, I hope that things start to get better for you guys over there soon. It would be nice for the federal government to step things up a notch…
I was told that power is restored to our street, so that’s a great start:)
And I’ll be heading home tomorrow to see in person.
It’s a slow process, but at least we can see progress being made now.
The one blessing is to see how caring & neighborly everyone has been, from businesses feeding the line workers free to people helping each other clean up, to churches & schools opening for folks to use showers & be able to charge devices and use Wi-Fi
I’m still praying for the folks in Asheville NC and other small towns there that have been destroyed by the combo of floods & wind damage. It’s heartbreaking to see the pics
Added some more stencils and needle felting supplies.
@kayrun yikes, hoping for good news for you soon
There are a LOT of potters in Asheville and they’re finally getting back to flooded studios and, gosh, those pictures are hard to look at.
Edit to add that I added a couple more woven bands to my shop. These are based on colors from some of our endemic birds.
Also, the neon/fluorescent one I have listed is UV-reactive (not glow in the dark) if that matters to anyone, haha!
Thanks!
Also @Mountains_and_Clouds (and all of you, actually! This is such a calming space to retreat to when I’m able to get online)
It’s amazing how disaster can bond people. I hugged a stranger the day after the stem school shooting here because we both needed it. We were waiting at the pharmacy.
I’m hoping that you return to an undamaged home or that it is only minor. Twigs in the yard sort of thing.
I’m sure my sister’s bf has been deployed down there with FEMA. He seems to be a good guy, wish I could say for him to go to your town!
My little kitty bow ties have arrived from @susieoregon . Our cats don’t normally wear collars, so I grabbed the most agreeable cat to test one out… She was a good sport other than dramatically flopping on the floor, haha!
Oh how cute! Yeah, the cat ones are definitely more for photo ops!
Look at that expression!!
It’s like, “What did I do to deserve this?”
I added two more stamps that I carved yesterday when I forgot what I was supposed to be doing
oops, claimed them…
I just added a bunch of little vases to my shop, in case anyone is interested! (Also, if anyone is looking for anything specific pottery wise in general, or different shapes colors of things I have posted, please let me know! I’m hoping to organize my inventory this week/weekend as long as the cats don’t decide to be tooo annoying and in the way. )
shoot! I was eyeing the flying fish – did you grab that one?
@irid3sc3nt you are so talented with the carvings!
they are all adorable! and you are so prolific, that you will soon be in the triple letter territory with names
the ocarinas are really cool~
I’m slowly getting back into action –
finally adding photos of some yarn I’m destashing
if I have time, I may do some zentangle ATCs to see if there’s any interest
Thank you! It’s fun, but I’m not great at coming up with my own designs, so I’m more of a replicator.
Liz was actually going to be for a letterbox, but it turned out really nice. I can’t have really nice, because these things disappear. I’ll make either a simpler one or a shadow of the Magic School Bus.
I’d like a variety of tools that are tiny. Right now I really only use one and just change the pressure.
Also, the Jayne hat is coming along. It’s satisfying to knit it.
I’ll be adding some Halloween ATCs in the next few days. First one tomorrow.
