Sugar skull monkey finally framed

This is fabulous! The bones look so precise, and then having the florals spilling all over is just super cool. Your detail work is lovely. I think, for me, this is a piece I would actually frame–in a wooden or gold leaf frame, with a fabric backing in a contrasting color to line the frame, and then the embroidery piece floating in the middle. A nice ornate oval frame about 3-4 inches larger than the embroidery in all directions would be awesome.

Finished at last!?

She needed a brownish goldish fancyish custom shaped oval frame, so I designed this using motifs that look like embroidered flowers, and 3D printed it. My print bed isn’t big enough to do the whole frame at once, so I did four quarters, then glued them on the backing.

I kind of dig the juxtaposition of hand embroidery with high tech.
