'Surf by Moonlight'

Another painting I did in the early years of this millenium.

It is small (35 x 26 cm) abstract painting and I used acrylics on canvas board.

It has kind of a funny story.
I did a couple of art shows in 2001-2004 and this small painting usually had a lot of admirers. It is because of them that I now (that I posted it on my Blog) gave it its name (Surf by Moonlight), because that’s what most of them said they saw in it.
What it was in reality: the leftover paint from a larger painting, that I just brushed onto this smaller canvas board instead of flushing it down the sink, to maybe use as a background for a future painting. I was not consciously making a painting, and it took me about 3 minutes.

Now that you know that, do you still see it as an actual painting?

Hey, art is art is art, no matter how it became that way!

Nice! It’s very moody and atmospheric.

This painting pulls me in each time I look at it. I wish i better knew how to describe the way it makes me feel. I would love to own it so I could gaze at each day.
