Wire and resin charms

For the Tea for Two Swap I wanted my crafts to be tea themed.

I’m a huge fan of simple continuous line drawings and started doodling some tea cups and tea pots. I gradually simplified them until I was able to bend wire along them.

I then filled the wire shapes with UV resin and added glitter and embellishments.

Unfortunately I forgot to take any in progress pics.

Here is the complete lot:

And the individual charms:

I really liked how they turned out and plan to make something similar for my SIL’s birthday.

Oh wow these are do clever and cute! They turned out great! Did you attach the wire to some tape to fill in the spaces or use just use the tension ?

Thank you!

@RagingSloth I used tape backing for filling the shapes. It was a bit tricky because they were pretty uneven. Next time I’ll hammer them down a bit and put the tape over some clay or putty to have a softer surface to work on.

These are so cute! What size are they?

I didn’t measure but I guess they are around 1” high.

Thank you!

For upcoming gifts I try to make a hummingbird and a kitty charm next. I think they could make great purse charms but are probably not sturdy enough to be used as key chains.

I like how they turned out too! It’s not that easy shaping wire, at least to me. These are really nice. My fav is the green/yellow flower. I like the different-colored liquid in each cup. TFSharing!

I feel the same about wire shaping. It’s not easy for me at all. When I haven’t done it in a while I use scrap wire and practice. Silky did a great job creating these charms.

These are so cool! I’ve seen people make flowers similar to this but never considered that you could just make anything you wanted. New crafty itch discovered!

I have a small, plastic wire jig with an instructions and examples pamphlet. I tried it once and got frustrated. I will try it again one day but I think freeform shaping is easier.
