I’m a Brazilian-Canadian multi-niche author and mom of three. I homeschooled all of them until 2023-2024. My girls are now in school and just my son is at home. I’m also a part-time programming assistant for my local library system.

I found this forum while searching for “ATC swaps in Canada,” since my little city doesn’t have an in-person swap. I’m so grateful to have found such a supportive corner of the internet

Suggestions/themes for ATC and other swaps

Please note, I’m extremely sensitive to perfume and several essential oils—they trigger my asthma and post-nasal drip/chronic allergic rhinitis. Please don’t send scented stuff. Thank you

Below are some of the themes I collect. The words in bold are some of my favourite things. All my themes can be interpreted very broadly; I’m not picky. About the only no-go for me is horror/gore. I’d also prefer not to receive Santa or Easter Bunny, as I observe Christmas and Easter as holy days.

• Artist’s choice

• Sunflowers

• The ocean/beach/sea creatures

• Swing Dancing, specifically Lindy Hop & Blues—This can be the dances, the dance legends (e. g. Frankie Manning, Dawn Hampton), or the music, such as Jazz or R&B, and the instruments used to play it.

• Writing, especially old-fashioned writer themes like typewriters, fountain pens, etc.

• Books, Reading

• Snail Mail, like letters, wax seals, stamps, etc.

• Anatomy (bones, organs, muscles, etc.)

• Summer

• "Everyday Holidays"—silly, unnecessary, or “just for fun” holidays. Official holidays are fine too, however, please no santa or Easter bunny (Christmas and Easter are holy days for me so I prefer to focus on the faith aspect)

• Interesting things/places/facts about where you live

• Movies—general, or any of the following: Back to the Future, Princess Bride, X-Men (especially Wolverine), Shawshank Redemption, Speed, any Sandra Bullock movie. No horror please; I’m a scaredy-cat.

• Kawaii

• Black panthers (the animal, not the Marvel character)

• Brazil/Brazilian folklore

• Canada

• Travel—general, or specifically, road trips, van life, cycle touring, adventure travel, camping/glamping

• Motorcycles, antique cars, neat vehicles

• HEMA Sword fighting (German 2-handed swords)

• Food (preferably vegetarian), especially fruit, recipes, etc.

• Board games, especially indie ones that I may not recognize

• Active Hobbies—general, or specifically, swimming, hiking, strength training/bodyweight training

• Disability rights—general, or specifically, invisible disabilities (no spoons please; I dislike the theory/language)

• Photography

• Calligraphy/lettering
