18th Birthday Typewriter Box Card

We’ve a family member with a milestone birthday this month. WOO! She’s been a writer and a voracious reader throughout her childhood, so this seemed like a cute one to make for her.

Her favorite color is blue, so I went with a mostly blue theme.

The SVG files come with flowers to embellish with, but I decided to go with balloons. They’re cut with a SIzzix/TH die set. I also used a Sizzix/TH alphabet die set for the “typed” message on the paper in the typewriter.

This looks like a lot of work to put together but I bet she will love it! It turned out so pretty, and honestly- who else in her world will give her a card as cool as this one??!?!

Thanks! It’s actually more work to cut, I think, than to put together. Each of the rows of keys in only 3 pieces. But it has 6 insert layers and more box cards have closer to 3.

This is so cute, what a nice card. Amazing how much detail you manage to get in such a small item, it seems like it would be so much bigger than something that fits in an envelope!
