I’ve wanted to make a pirate shirt for a while. And since I decided that this year’s trunk-or-treat would be pirate treasure, I just had to do it. I opted for light cotton instead of linen, as I usually go the cheap route for Halloween costumes, and I did not have any old white sheets.
I mostly used this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJsAOtJh974&t=28s because her instructions were pretty good. I did machine sew, serged inside seams, and did most of the finishing that would show on the outside by hand. I overestimated measurements and adjusted as I went.
And a chest to store all my wicked gains. It will be filled with gold wrapped candy. Aditional deco is a skull and arm bones, more gold plate and jewelry. The had was made for a mexican theme, then pinned back to go pirating. The backdrop will be a sandy sea shore, I hope. I also have a jolly roger flag. It’s amazing what a bit of cardboard, glue, and paint will accomplish.
My notes were hilarious, but I did record my final measurements.
