2024 Stitchalong

They were actually part of my slow stitch project that I do each February. Part of this particular project was ways to use different embellishments. Also, how to use the featured stitch. It is a bit confusing, I suppose, except to me. Since I did it, I retain the memory of the stitch and its use. I also tried to incorporate previous stitches I learned, so yeah, it is a bit of a jumble!

@Magpie --they are double sided, so I would want access to both sides as a reference.

Here is my work basket with s few started…I use the little hoop to stitch the main piece to learn the stitch.

My personal sampler of stitches I never heard of…ha

Beautiful pieces!

I have been destashing and organizing instead of crafting. If I rehomed about half of my supplies, my studio would still be full, but I’d be able to find what I need. And I’d still have SABLE.

I have not sorted through my cubic foot of embroidery supplies yet…

These panels are absolutely beautiful @AIMR, wow!

I hear you on the organising @steiconi! I think I’ve got too many projects in my head all at once this week, so I’ve ended up doing lots of chores instead of working on all my creative plans … I’m hoping it will help if I clear the decks a bit.

I worked more yesterday, Sunday, and I’m working more on it today. After all that I’ve done, I can’t be trifling and not be finished by the last day. I only have parts of the leaves and the bracelet chain left. This has been so thrilling!

Looking fabulous!

I got a couple of lemon patterns and my box of threads out, but I have been too distracted by a million things …

When you mentioned the Holbein stitch, I searched and found 4 nice examples.

Well, hallelujah! I finished my project! :woman_cartwheeling:t4: I guess it was a little ambitious for a beginner but I often bite off what I can barely chew.

I had wanted to fill in the leaves more but am glad that I did the open stitches instead. It helped me to finish in time.

I was going to do the chain stitch for the bracelet but decided to try the cable chain stitch. It was fun learning it.

I am going to wrap my project onto a cardboard or foam core backing, add a ribbon hanger and hang it on the wall in my kitchen. It will be a reminder that I truly can embroider. :yellow_heart:

Well done!! It looks great, I’m glad you’re going to hang it up and enjoy it! And well done for learning new stitches and challenging yourself too!

Excellent job! I will have to include that beautiful cable chain in my sampler book!

I love how you took this from design to finish…a wonderful piece of art to hang in your home!

Yay for a new month! In January we had 2 qualifying stitchers: @ArtsyLadyCrafter and @AIMR. You have both earned one entry in our quarterly prize drawings. Remember, we need 5 entries from 5 different stitchers per quarter for our drawing to take place.

Our themes for February are:

Feb Themes

Remember, your stitch does not need to incorporate all themes and can be a loose or literal interpretation. Hand and machine embroidered elements count!

For February we are also going to try…

Try to fill out a full row (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) on the Stitch Bingo card below. You can get BINGO multiple times! Each BINGO = 1 quarterly drawing entry. You can claim a square by completing the task in the square - it does not need to be a completed project. One project can cover multiple squares. (For example: a stitched project in a hoop that uses backstitch, picot stitch, and satin stitch that you post as a completed project outside the stitchalong would earn you 5 squares!) If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! Have fun and happy stitching! :sewing_needle:

Where did January go!? It was a crazy busy month and despite my best efforts, I missed the deadline. But I did finish my lemons today, if I may share the finished project. I have just the right pattern to start this weekend for February!

ETA: I realized too late that the pattern has an extra E in the middle of “squeeze.” It hurts my English major heart, but not enough to rip the stitches and reposition that entire section.

Oh my gosh I love it!!! Hilarious.

A couple days is barely late…I’ll add your name for the quarterly drawing!!

So snarky!

You could applique a flower or something over that extra E. Then you would have to add a couple more, similar flowers to balance it…

I just read it that you really want to squeeze that lemon juice in their eyes!
