This was fun and relaxed courthouse affair; planned, but not in any way extravagant or fussy. To honor the Jewish part of TheMisterT’s ancestry, he stomped a glass as we exchanged a smooch on the country building steps. The whole afternoon was captured “on film” by a photographer friend who was visiting.
I saved the broken glass to do something with and this is that thing. It’s built into a plastic ornament meant for diorama/cloche style decoration. I printed the pic at home, used paper from stash, embossed with a brick embossing folder to back it.
I used dies to cut the year for the top and the date for the base in two shades of blue. I also die cut a circle in a sparkly blue cardstock to cover the bottom.
It’s pretty simple and mostly sentimental - a lot like the day back in March - and I’m tickled with it. I may add some kind of embellishment to the hanger base thing (ferrule?) and replace the string, but I may not. I’m calling this my last finished project for 2024!
Thank you, friend! Not surprisingly, it was a fun and slightly irreverent day, so this plastic dollar store ornament feels right. It’s important that it be about the marriage, not just the wedding, right?
I really like the addition of the embossed brick background. This entire ornament, complete with the glass is such a fun way to commemorate that day and that particular moment! Congratulations on your marriage!
It really can. I love that we were semi-spontaneous. Planned enough to make it work logistically, but not by some kind of list of things published by the Wedding Industrial Complex.
