I have ideas sketched up for 3 pieces. I even found some great tutorials I can use. I hope I manage to get all of them ready by the end of the week.

I settled on idea #3 which is something I’ve done once before but want to push further and really dig into. I have lofty hopes and gorgeous reference pins. Let’s see if the universe is kind on this one. Also, kind of flying by the seat of my pants and making stuff up as I go.

Today is one of those days where I start 4 different pieces, hate all of them, and question my ability to paint. Time to switch gears (again).

You’re an amazing artist. Give yourself grace and permission to play.
I know personally I struggle with perfectionism, but really, if I just let something sit for a while (or look at it in a different way: like looking at it upside down, taking a picture of the piece and manipulating it in photo software to see if a few tweaks would me me like it more, OR just acknowledging that every painting has an ugly stage and I need to paint past it) sometimes that helps.

I find this with a lot of stuff I make. I can see all the flaws, but others love it. I hope your brain gremlins give you a break soon.

Precisely! Weaselly gremlins! One of my team was having a bad day, and as well as telling her she was doing fine, I said to her “when the brain gremlins wake you at 3am to tell you you’re rubbish… they’re lying” 
I love the idea of drawing a brain gremlin, or a brain weasel.
