with trepidation, I just signed up –
most of you know that I’m still new/ inexperienced with non-knitting projects, so this is me really stretching out of my comfort zone…(thanks again to the zoom buddies who gave me so many good ideas & helped me set aside time to just get started on this!)
I like my piece a lot, and am just hoping that someone else will like it also
(dagnabbit, the weasels are running around in my brain now)

Yay I’m glad you joined!

If there’s a way to make them go away, I haven’t found it yet. Maybe we all need a copy of @jemimah’s card on our wall

Just give your weasel a name, and then tell him to shut up (“shut up, Trevor/Ernest/name of your choice!”). And then roll your eyes at him, because he is being a dick.

And, yay!! I’m happy you signed up!

I have one piece done and haven’t had a chance to finish anything else because I’m playing emotional support human to my daughter for her college statistics class and that is eating up all of my nights. :upside_down_face:

I will TRY to finish another piece or two, but going to send in my sign up now for a single piece and will amend it later (with a notice to Kwality that I did so) if I can make more.

I tried to find time for one more piece but I had so much going on. I am good with two. Hopefully my partners will like them.

This week turned out to be crazy busy in every way. I don’t think I will be able to finish my 3rd piece. Will send my Q later today.

I worked some more on my art yesterday. I think I’m ready for the scary step soon!

Questionnaire sent!
I’m really looking forward to swapping.

Do you use cardboard backed envelopes when you send out art like this?

I usually just put the art inside a 5x7 card. Since the card is slightly bigger than the art I haven’t had any issues with the art bending.

Sounds like this is going to be a big swap, looking forward to the gallery!

I think it depends on the material you’re using. I generally have used watercolor paper, so it seems to hold up fine by itself or inside a greeting card.

Okay!! I had a lot o procrastinatin’ to do, so I have three pieces ready. My brain tends to think in series/groups, so making a triptych felt the same as making one.

I think I’m going to send mine in board envelopes, but mine are 99% likely to be going overseas so I feel they’ll need the extra protection.

Something to keep in mind is weight and size limits and envelopes being machinable (if you’re sending letter mail). I know it varies by country but in the US your letters can’t be too rigid or you’ll have to pay a non-machinable surcharge.
