03 - WIP HANDSPUN FIBERS
Some spun fiber was left untouched on the niddy noddy for a few solid years, which in turn held the next spin session up in the bobbin.
I purchased my Ashford over a decade ago and WANTED to make beautiful things but quickly felt discouraged when struggling to get the tension right. The overtwists really got to me! (I also want to have a more consistent thickness.)
A 2026 goal is to learn a new medium, and spinning and weaving may just be among those crafts. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned the plan to join the local Handweavers and Spinners Guild, but it’s only $50 for the year and I’m sure the little old ladies there will have some valuable tips to share!
In the meantime, I decided last weekend to finally free up the wheel! While those WIPs are not technically fully finished as I’m waiting on warmer weather to set and dry, I can now at least work on destashing all that roving in the basement!
