50 Projects for 2026! Set your goal to reach your goal!

That is stunning!!

I finished the redo of my Mondrian sweater and it is blocking - hopefully dry enough to try on tonight.

Of course having no chill, I started on a hood/cowl combo but then a few hours in, decided the yarn isn’t pretty enough in these dreary days so ripped it all back. I will be prepping to start with some rainbow yarn I’ve been hoarding. I’m excited to see how it works up.

What an accomplishment!

It’s beautiful, @jellybean! That is a huge project.

I, on the other hand, have finished a very small project. (And already started another one.)

I started a simple Christmas cross stitch (I know… ) as a bit of a palate-cleanser in between plugging away on my long-term WIP. It uses just two colours, and I’m delighted by how quickly the design is appearing as I go.

I’ve started on making my Galentine’s cards and plan on finishing them by tomorrow. I was hoping to get them done by today, but of course, I ran into complications with my Silhouette machine . Thankfully though, I finally got the machine to work, so my extra small items are ready to go!

Congrats to @jellybean and @gatheredroots for completing their wk2 goals!

I am working on a document to track all the points and so that you can see your accomplishments!

I managed to finish another set of leg warmers; destash some yarn; and organize my yarn stash so I can make things more readily. (I obviously need different jeans to wear these. Wide leg jeans do not tuck easily!)

Those are yummy leg warmers!

Thanks–I know these are the ones I will reach for the most! I tried to include as many colors as I could using my tights collection as a guide. I have tights in almost all those colors! I also have jeans that are skinnier but to be honest, I don’t get what they look like as long as my legs are warm. I truly hate this cold.

Finally got around to taking some pictures.

This was finished last year in Dec. I’m gifting in a while elephant with my bookclub tomorrow. Made with leftover Malabrigo yarn.

Here’s a half linen stitch cowl to use up some yarns that are not my favorite colors. This will get donated to Knit the Rainbow.

Finished the redo of my Mondrian sweater! I’m going to reblock the sleeves since they ended up a bit snug >.< otherwise, I’m happy I gave it some new life!

A basket I made for @MistressJennie last year. She only just received it a few weeks ago so it’s safe to post now.

And now the start on my hood/cowl - this picture is a little blurry but look at the pretty colors

03 - WIP HANDSPUN FIBERS

Some spun fiber was left untouched on the niddy noddy for a few solid years, which in turn held the next spin session up in the bobbin.

I purchased my Ashford over a decade ago and WANTED to make beautiful things but quickly felt discouraged when struggling to get the tension right. The overtwists really got to me! (I also want to have a more consistent thickness.)

A 2026 goal is to learn a new medium, and spinning and weaving may just be among those crafts. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned the plan to join the local Handweavers and Spinners Guild, but it’s only $50 for the year and I’m sure the little old ladies there will have some valuable tips to share!

In the meantime, I decided last weekend to finally free up the wheel! While those WIPs are not technically fully finished as I’m waiting on warmer weather to set and dry, I can now at least work on destashing all that roving in the basement!

04 - HANDSPUN SUPERWASH MERINO & SILK BLEND

I purchased these superwash merino and silk blend rovings from a local shop (which has since closed) a few years back and finally pulled them out from the stash bin last night for the week 4 “quick” craft challenge.

It turns out the first hank is very much over-twisted all over the place, which I didn’t know was the case until I removed the yarn from the niddy noddy.

The second hank turned out so much better, although playing around with the tension is a must moving forward…

Those are beautiful hand spun yarn!! I would be tempted to try if it didn’t require a whole boatload more supplies and equipment to learn lol. I’ll stick with knitting.

My Galentine’s Day cards are finished and in the mail! Pics to come once they’re received.

I am loving all the colorful projects in this thread! @AIMR, those leg warmers look like a fun way to jazz up any outfit.

@sheepBlue, I always love seeing your yarn creations. It’s like magic the way you take strings of yarn and turn them into functional items!

@gatheredroots - speaking of magic, I imagine that’s how you turned that roving into yarn. It’s beautiful!

Congrats, @sheepBlue for making the changes to your Modrian sweater! I love the new sleeves!

Can you believe we are already in February?

The February Thing-a-Day has just started so maybe this can also inspire us to get some projects done or going!

Week 5: Do you have a project that can be completed in little bites? Maybe a bit everyday that you could post in February and be done at the end of the month? [5 pts for starting; 10 points for finishing]

or, finish a project by the end of February…all finished projects will get 1 point. It is winter for most of us, so being inside is the perfect excuse to craft!
