CLOSED -50 Projects in 2020

I had that goal for several years…finally, when I moved last year, I took all the books that I never used and donated them to a recrafting store…it was freeing! Most of the books I have now are knitting or crocheting that you can use over and over…it is a good goal!

I have a very small selection of books, I too donated all that I wasn’t making from & have the goal to use the rest more frequently. I did just order an embroidery book but that’s a craft I’m hoping to focus on more this year. I’m a non-monogomous crafter, sort of dabling in everything. I’m hoping to refine what I do, go deeper in a couple most-loved things rather than being spread thinly over the entire crafting universe.

I have been a craftster member for years, but I have never been active, so what better time than a new year to change that and finally start posting… it took a new platform too, but hey, here we are ;).

I guess 50 projects is a recipe for failure in my case , so I’m going to limit myself to finish at least 12 projects this year. 1 project per month seems at least doable ;).

And also completely following @jemimah to stash bust for once and for all and not buy anything new (or at least try… we all know how that mostly turns out ).

MY LIST
Completed 2020

  • Added a zipper to and repaired the inlay cushion for the cat carrier

Planned projects 2020
Yarn and fabric projects (sewing, embroidery, crochet, tatting, …)

  • padded frame drum bag
  • crocheted baby blanket and/or booties & hat (baby present for a friend)
  • crocheted unicorn hooded scarf (present for my niece)
  • finishing curtains (for my dad… who has been waiting for ages, ahum)
  • transforming corner to corner crocheted unicorn into a pillow case or a wall hanging
  • regency underthings 1: chemise
  • regency underthings 2: short stays
  • embroidered regency reticule
  • tatted jewelry
  • continuing my tunisian crochet cardigan (which will probably take me another 10 years  before it ever gets finished)
  • finish some of my UFO’s (mostly small repairs or alteration of my clothes)

Visual art (drawing & painting)

  • black & white portrait series
  • triptych (will probably end up a dipytich  )
  • screens to keep the sun out (cardboard/paper maché + paint)

That sounds very sensible  I like your cat profile pic - is that your cat?

Hahaha, yes, that is the Shah. He’s very much aware of his royal lineage , but incredibly sweet too .

my first project of the year:

I timed myself this time.
Each back leg takes about 12 min.
Each arm takes about 16 min
The body takes 30 min
The face takes 8 min
Attaching and weaving ends takes about 30 min
So about 2 hours per sloth.

Sloths! :sloth:

Oh, they are so danged adorable!

This is me, too. I feel like narrowing down my focus would do me a world of good.

Alright, I love lists too much to stay away. I can’t guarantee that I won’t fade out and revert to stalking, but I’ve stayed pretty active in the HP Craftalong, so hopefully I can just remember to update the list when I post over there.

Obviously I am also an all different types of crafts person, but I’ve chosen to embrace it. If I go my entire life at the “ambitious beginner/intermediate” level for all of the crafts I do, that’s just fine with me. I don’t shy away from deepening my skills in one particular area, but to me, the whole point of hobbies is to learn new things, so I’m not going to limit myself from bouncing around as much as my little heart desires.:grinning:

such a cute little puffin!

I got my January stitchalong finished…a cross stitch for my nephew and his partner, who both recently relocated to Portland.

Also, an ATC that was made for @LindaP

I recognized the baby puffin (Baba?) immediately! I think that show is adorable but my son is much more interested in Baby Shark  lol
