Thank goodness for this community! I am not a cook or baker. But, after seeing some of the goodies posted and getting tried and true recipes, I actually made some things!
I made them way too big, but I figured people can just split them up and share. Me? I can eat the whole thing!
A couple of people made some no bake round ball things, so I looked up round ball cookies and made Rum Balls and Date Balls. Most of the date balls were devoured before I could get a picture, but at least some are left.
Right on! For my money, having a few really solid recipes to work with is better than a library of finicky ones youโll never make. It looks like everything came out great!

Agree. I have no patience and baked good usually turn out burnt or awful for me. These were fast and the name Chubby Hubby tickles me!
I wanted to make Rainbow Rave cookies, but it was two pages and used two different kinds of vanilla. I didnโt have the time to dedicate to it.
@AIMR Iโm interested in the date balls Do they use fresh dates or dried?

I used pitted dates that came in a package. If you make them, rolling them is a real pain unless you oil your hands. You really have to mush the dates and rice krispies. I am thinking of maybe making date squares next time and just mash everything in a pan. It was hard on my hands to make these!
I now have loads of rice krispies so I am either going to make more date balls or maybe just rice krispy marshmallow treats for the little ones. I normally donโt eat cereal.
Thatโs so true! I love baking and I have a few books full of recipes that Iโd like to try out some time, when I have the time. But 90% of the time I make my reliable old recipes that I could make with my eyes closed and always work.
