A Set Of Little Landscapes

I wanted to use some dark cream 4x4 paper I recieved this summer and decided to try making a couple small landscapes with gouache.

The first is based on one of Ruth Wilshaw’s tutorials. Her piece is called Night Garden (one of four tiny worlds in the tutorial). I’m calling mine “Edge Of Night.”

The second was me wanting to play with greens and pinky-oranges with a similar shape but different motif. This one is “Wildflower Sunset.”

Both will be in Shop The Swap 2024 which should begin in a few weeks.

Very pretty. I like how that peachy tone looks so different against the darker & lighter colour palettes.

Love the colors adn dreamy feel of both of these. I also love that you did a tutorial and then expanded upon what you learned to create your own work.

@Abbeeroad, @Magpie, @Bunny1kenobi, @Myrthena - Thank you!

@wittychild - thank you! I hope the various art pieces I’ve been doing go well in STS, but you never know.

@gozer - thank you! I really want to try making my own compositions and playing more from my imagination versus following a strict reference. Embracing a more loose style or creating a composition completely off the cuff is not always my forte.

Gorgeous! I love the divide of the colors with the unity of the whole pieces. I can’t imagine being able to use gouache this well!
