For the Nerd Games summer camp edition @LovelyMiss provided two clothespins and embroidery floss for us to make our own clothespin dolls. These two are my creations for the summer camp art club:
These are so creative!! I love the paint job on the bear and both of their outfits are so well executed! I especially like the little peek of the slip/bloomers under the pumpkin outfit.
This needs to be a children’s book! Wow, people are really elevating these peg dolls. All the details! That little map, binoculars, the backpack, her adorable little hat and outfit, not to mention her cute face. They are perfect and they look like they were a lot of fun to make!
Thanks! I drilled a hole in the clothespins for the arms, threaded a length of thick gage wire through, and then wrapped the wire with embroidery floss and secured the ends with glue.
Nice! What do you drill your holes with? I’m finding I need to drill holes in things and I was thinking about one of those little hand drills, but then I thought a dremel might be a bit easier. My husband already has the dremel. I don’t know if stuff should be clamped or ?
For example: I have some small, flat UV resin pieces that need a little hole in them.
I use a dremel for all my craft-related drilling. My husband has a workbench clamp and if something is big enough, evenly shaped I use that. Otherwise…I just place the item on an old phone book, grab the dremel and hope for the best . I find using the drill at a slow speed to start the hole gives me more control and precision. Then, I switch to a high speed.
Thank you! @LovelyMiss went above and beyond for this season and it’s proving to be one of the best! I’m so grateful for all her hard work and the other nerd game mods!
