In addition to ATCs there’s also APCs. Altered Playing Card. Most people leave a little bit of the playing card visible so you can still see the number and suit. But otherwise you can use the card just as an ATC base.
The prompt for this APC was it needed at least 12 layers

Do you play around with a layout before gluing down?
I find that I cover up what I wanted to see and realized maybe I need to do a “mock-up” first
I concure, 12 layers is a lot! You pulled it off in such a tight space without making it look overly done or messy. Kudos!
