Alternatives to Posca Brand paint pens?

Hey lovely humans, my BFF is looking for recommendations for paint pen alternatives to Poscas. She finds them unreliable and expensive.

Do you have any suggestions for alternative brands? We’re in the UK, so can get most things, but may struggle to get own brands from US stores. Feel free to suggest these though as they may be a good starting point.

Sorry if this is a duplicate post, I did search and couldn’t find anything. Thank you.

For brush tip acrylic markers I really like the Arrtx and Meeden brands. They both have a larger color selection than posca and are significantly cheaper (in the US at least). I haven’t touched my poscas since getting them.

It might help to know how she is planning on using them as there are different nibs to consider.

I have purchased this set, which seems only slightly cheaper than the Poscas.

But for black and white, I still buy mostly the Poscas in different sizes.

My daughter and I really like the new Sharpie acrylic paint pens, tho thus far I’ve only seen them available in 2 different multicolor packs, so it’s not the same level of color selection.

How ya liking em so far? And i honestly wish some companies would sell their pens empty so ya could mix and do it yourself. Would make em cheaper to buy.

I’m curious. I’ve not worked with modern paint pens. I keep thinking about the paint pens from the 80’s with the big felt tip. We used them to do preppy looking personalization of our stuff. I’m assuming the ones that everyone writes about here are a vast improvement over that era.

Thank you everyone, I will share these ideas with her :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I like Panduro brand, I’m not sure if you can get those in the UK. It’s the store brand of Panduro / Pipoos, a big craft store chain in Europe, but I’m not sure if they’re in the UK too.
