Annie's Red Wool Cardigan

Annie was one of my favorite movies growing up - also my oldest sister’s name, which added to the appreciation of the film - and one I’ve enjoyed with my own kids. My younger son liked it so much as a toddler that, when I crocheted him his own Annie doll, he didn’t let it out of his sight for a few years. The costuming for the film was just delightful, and one of my favorite pieces was her red sweater.

I used the Mille pattern by Regina Moessmer (again, with fewer mistakes) and Paton’s Classic Worsted Wool. I left off the shawl collar and shaped the sleeves to look more like the movie sweater. The biggest difference is that mine is a raglan construction while hers looks like a set-in sleeve.

And, it’s almost sweater weather!!! :maple_leaf::mushroom::fallen_leaf:

This is so impressive! I’m always really impressed by crocheted/knitted cardigans! Probably because I love a good cardigan! :purple_heart:

Which Annie movie is your favorite?

Thank you!

I’ve only ever seen the original film and the live musical.

Beautifully done! A nice shade of red to be so versatile. Love the pockets as well.

The sun has come out… today! This is great! I also got to see the live musical when it was touring not long after the movie came out in the 80s.

That would be amazing. I actually went to see it the night my sister (Annie) went into labor with her first child. She and her husband were supposed to go, but couldn’t, for obvious reasons. So, she gave me the tickets.
