Aquarius Key Painting

This is a painting on did on the glass from the frame. This was made for @Tapestry 's daughter, who is a fellow anime fan!

I wanted to put manga panels in the background. I used an editing software to decrease the opacity, so that the painting would stand out more. I chose a very iconic scene, which was recognized! :purple_heart:

I was so excited to do this project! I don’t have many friends who also like anime so this was a treat!

Wow! I haven’t really appreciated the difficulty of painting on glass until I saw the view from the backside! That clearly took a lot of forethought to get it just right. The use of the comic in the background is a great touch.

I’m so glad you claimed me in the swap! You made my daughter’s week and she adores the painting. Gorgeous work!

It definitely takes planning so the right colors are showing through. The manga in the background was not my idea, I saw similar ideas on Tik Tok. (I did choose the specific panels though)

The painting backward looks hard, but it turned out amazing. Dropping the opacity of the comic really sets it off!

The paint likes to streak on the glass so that tricky. It’s also definitely tricky to figure out what color goes on top of another color. I’ve seen amazing glass paintings of anime characters, but I wanna but too daunted to try a character on my first try. Lol.

How awesome! I love Fairy Tail and the love Aquarius secretly had for Lucy there at the end. Great job!
