The ornament background and the palette is made out of model magic and the paintbrushes are made from toothpicks and the tips of Q-tips. For the paint splotches, I actually put the paint on the palette instead of trying to paint the splotches by dabbing a paintbrush. I think it makes it seem more like an actually palette.
