This yarn has been sitting in my stash for a couple years, waiting for the perfect project. It’s Evergreen by Hobbii - a fingering weight, 100% non-superwash organic wool, in the colorway Seafoam. It has been discontinued, unfortunately. I had 250g (1260 yards/1152m) and I used up nearly every bit of it. The buttons are shell, and also from stash. Surprisingly, I even had matching thread on hand.
The pattern is the Basic V-Neck Pullover by Cleome Smith, and one I’ve made before. But, I wanted a lightweight, cropped-ish cardigan with not-long sleeves. The only modification was not joining in the center and adding a button band. I had no idea how far the yarn would go, so I knit everything but the sleeves, then divided my remaining yarn in half and knit the sleeves until I ran out. By some small miracle, the sleeves came out the perfect length to be comfortable (3/4).
I do need to work on my tension, though. My knit rows are too loose if I don’t loop my yarn around an extra finger.
I am making an effort to only make clothes for myself that work with what I already have. I spent the first half of the year consuming a ridiculous amount of information on capsule wardrobes, color palettes, and styles that work well with my body shape. But, I’m trying to build an every-day kind of wardrobe.
Thank you! I love this color, too. Honestly, I would have been fine with the sleeves being above the elbow, though. It’s funny (at least, my brain thinks so) that this sweater is the yarn equivalent of just three pairs of socks. Different size of needles, of course.
