I think this is finished, although I may do a little more when I get back to it in two weeks. It’s the first in a series of three. All about the small overlooked things. Beetles, mushrooms and slugs. I haven’t created any of the colours in the beetles below, they are all painted as accurately as I can from photos.

I am fascinated by bugs. It must have been difficult choosing which ones to do since there are so many beetles! The green one is a favorite, but they all deserve recognition.
A series…so we can expect slugs or snails or mushrooms or lichen?
This is one of my favourite things I’ve seen here. I’m completely smitten with the naturally occuring colours of the beetles, the execution of the shimmer, the rainbow. All of it. Gold Star.
I can’t say I’m much of a fan of bugs, but I love the detail you’ve put into yours, the shine on the lil yellow spotty bug, the shadows and the antennae!
Some bugs have beautiful colors and a cool iridescents to them. You captured it so well. They are stunning. I am so curious how you will make slugs cool. Can’t wait to see all of them.
