Beholder Cake

From the other projects I’ve posted, you probably already know that my kids like chocolate cake and D&D. This is a beholder cake for my daughter. The central body is chocolate cake with peanut butter filling. The eyeballs are mini oreos split in half with an added chocolate chip, and the outer eyes are homemade chocolate donuts (with oreo halves on top). The mouth is icing. Simple, yet effective.

That beholder cake turned out amazing, and I love how creative the mix of chocolate cake, peanut butter filling, Oreos, and homemade donuts is. The details really make it look like something straight out of a D&D adventure. It also reminded me how fun creative projects can be for reducing stress. I recently read about BetterMe’s corporate employee wellness program, and I liked that it combines personalized fitness plans, nutrition guidance, mental wellness exercises, and healthy habit tracking, making it easier to stay energized while balancing work and family life. It’s a practical way to build routines that leave more energy for fun projects like this.
