Black Cotton Chemise

I’m flying to Oregon in June for a students graduation and my sister wants to attend the Ren faire. I’m going to try to make my outfit.

First up is the chemise.

I used this pattern. It was pretty straightforward. I would like to make another one in a lighter weight fabric so I can add a ruffle to the collar.

I’m going to make an overdress but in the meantime E helped me take photos of it with a corset.

I felt very gothic. And we passed like two people walking and several cars passed us on our little Vermont dirt road. I’m pretty sure that by now I’ve got a reputation for being really weird.

The base chemise looks great but adding the corest really makes it shine. I can’t wait to see the finished ren fair outfit!

Thank you. I’m excited about the overdress. I’m going to make it out of some fabric I’ve had on hand for probably close to 16 years.

I was surprised this was in the costume tag, because my first thought was just that it looked like a really nice flowy dress for summer. :slightly_smiling_face: It looks great!

It came out great! I can’t wait to see the whole costume together.

You could wear the under dress without the corset for an every day outfit. It looks comfy. You could wear it with too for flair.

It already looks awesome and you’re not even done yet!

Also, the best people are weird. Just saying. :winking_face_with_tongue:

@fishstix43 thanks! I debated where to put it but since I’m making to for a ren faire I decided on costumes.

@MistressJennie @gozer thank you!!

@RagingSloth thanks. I had my kid bleach the underside of my hair. I like it a lot and it’s easier to upkeep than the teal strips.

@Manders haha true. Its just funny because the neighbors constantly see me walking our dirt road with my camera and sometimes in outfits you don’t typically see in the country.
